SPEAKER:      PST. WINNER ADEWALE
TOPIC:            THE MIND OF CHRIST - WINNING THE HARD TIMES
TEXT:              Phil 2:5, Matt 7:24-27

INTRODUCTION
What is God’s original intent?
Life was designed to be enjoyed and not be endured. This can be proven in the fact that God created first all that man would need for survival even before he created man. And finally when He created man, He made man dominate over all he’d created, Gen 1:28
Hard Times can be likened to difficult and times of tribulation.

THE ROOT CAUSE OF HARD TIMES
Man lost the authority and power of Dominion when He disobeyed God. As a result of this, man was cursed and the land too because of the sin man had committed. Thus hard Times became inevitable, Gen 3:17-19.

MANIFESTATIONS OF HARD TIMES IN OUR CONTEMPORARY WORLD
1.      Fear
2.      Tension
3.      Depression
4.      Ill health
5.      Loss of hope
6.      Untimely death

We can see these effects in our academic business and in our lives after school.

WINNING THE HARD TIMES
1.      Pray thankfully: John 6:5-12, Phil 4:16.
2.      Exercise faith in God. John 11:40-42, Mark 4:40, Rom 10:17, John 15:7
3.      Be obedient to God’s leading and instruction(s). Every miracle and manifestation of God’s power and glory is as a result of obedience to specific instructions. John 6:38, John 2:15, John 15:10
4.     Maintain confidence in God: God is not a liar; our confidence is in God and His word would save us in times of troubles. Mk 4:38, Heb 10:35, Num 23:19
5.    Open yourself to God’s will: God may take us through hard times for his purpose and perfection of His glory. We must therefore understand God’s will and align ourselves with it. Matt 26:39, John 9:1-2, Jer 8:1-6, 1 John 5:14.

CONCLUSION
God is always our father and he loves us so dearly, giving us good gifts everyday if we would trust in Him more, He would always rescue us in hard times.
